Pollen and allergies — Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik lies in the far south of Croatia, in a mild Mediterranean climate with long, warm summers. Such a climate extends the pollen season to almost the entire year, and the allergen profile is characterized by wall pellitory, olive and cypress.
Main allergens and season
- Late winter and early spring (January–March): cypress and other Cupressaceae often open the season in mid-winter.
- Spring (April–June): olive and other Mediterranean species.
- Most of the year (February–November): wall pellitory (Parietaria) — in the mild south Dalmatian climate has an exceptionally long season and is one of the leading allergens.
Sirocco, bora and humidity change pollen concentration in the air, so we link the risk assessment to current weather forecast.
