Pollen and allergies — Našice
Našice lie in western Slavonia, at the foot of Krndija and Papuk, where fertile arable land meets extensive deciduous forests. Such a combination gives the city pronounced tree pollen in spring, along with summer grasses and autumn ragweed typical for Slavonia.
Main allergens and season
- Spring (March–May): birch, hornbeam, oak, and beech from Papuk and Krndija forests — tree allergens are more pronounced here than in flat Slavonia.
- Late spring and summer (May–July): grasses from meadows and field edges.
- Late summer and autumn (August–September): ragweed around cultivated surfaces and roads.
The position near mountains also means somewhat wetter and more changeable weather, which affects how much pollen is retained in the air.
