Pollen forecast Varaždin

Varaždin lies in the Drava valley, in northwestern Croatia, surrounded by fertile lowlands and river meanders. The humid Drava meadows and agricultural landscape give it a pronounced grass pollen season, while parks and tree-lined avenues of the Baroque city contribute to spring tree pollen.

Main allergens and season

• Spring (March–May): birch, alder, and hornbeam; early peaks of hazel and alder are possible as early as February and March.
• Late spring and summer (May–July): grasses from the Drava meadows and surrounding arable land — the main burden of the season.
• Late summer (August–September): ragweed, which spreads along the Drava and roads just as it does throughout continental Croatia.

Morning mists and humidity in the Drava valley affect pollen concentration; dry and windy days regularly raise it.
