Pollen forecast Karlovac

Karlovac is a city on four rivers — Kupa, Koran, Dobra and Mrežnica — with plenty of humid river meadows and greenery. Its position at the transition from the Pannonian plain towards Gorski Kotar gives it a mixed profile: alongside abundance of grasses from river meadows, woody allergens from surrounding forests appear.

Main allergens and season

• Spring (March–May): pollen from birch, alder, ash, hornbeam and oak from the forested hinterland; early peaks of alder and hazel are possible as early as late winter, and ash is common in flood plains along the Kupa.
• Late spring and summer (May–July): grasses are particularly pronounced here due to extensive humid meadows along the rivers.
• Late summer (August–September): ragweed along roads and cultivated areas.
