Gdańsk combines a coastal setting with the Dead Vistula valley and the wooded hills of the Tricity Landscape Park. A cooler spring can delay pollen release compared with central Poland, but windy weather readily moves pollen between the coast, the city, and its hinterland.
Main allergens and season
- March–April: hazel and alder, followed by birch in woods and urban greenery.
- April–May: birch, oak, and ash.
- May–July: grasses on meadows, dunes, and the city’s outskirts.
- August–September: mugwort, and locally ragweed, on vacant land and around infrastructure.
